The Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup wrapped up last weekend at Churchill Park in Lautoka, attracting football enthusiasts and athletes from all over Fiji. The tournament featured exciting matches and highlighted remarkable football talent.
The championship title was claimed by the NZFFI Auckland All-Stars, who made a significant impact beyond the pitch. They visited the Nadi Center for Special Education, where they distributed soccer balls to the students and committed $1,500 to support the 2025 Back to School Stationery initiative.
In line with the spirit of giving, America Fiji Sports Commission Chairman Narend Narayan upheld his philanthropic tradition with a generous donation of $5,000 to WOWS Kids, an organization dedicated to helping children facing cancer. Narayan, who has a history of supporting worthy causes, expressed his ongoing commitment to enhancing the lives of vulnerable children.
Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel commended both teams for their charitable efforts. He stated that their contributions went beyond the realm of football, profoundly affecting the lives of those in need and embodying the true essence of the tournament. Patel also announced that Fiji FA would continue supporting WOWS Kids by allocating proceeds from ticket sales, ensuring that $1 from every ticket sold during the four days of the event would go towards this cause. To date, Fiji FA has contributed over $60,000 to various social responsibility efforts and remains focused on making a positive difference.
This heartwarming culmination of sports and philanthropy showcases the potential of sporting events to foster community spirit and provide aid to those in need. The commitments from both the tournament participants and organizers illustrate that compassion and teamwork extend beyond the field, inspiring hope and goodwill throughout Fiji.
