FOOTBALL excitement will fill Lawaqa Park this weekend as the FMSA Tebara Halal Meats Muslim Inter-District Championship (IDC) 2025 kicks off tomorrow. Organized by the Fiji Muslim Sports Association, this three-day event will feature 14 district teams competing across four pools, offering free entry for all spectators.
The tournament will commence at 8 AM on Friday, with several exciting matches lined up. The opening fixtures include Cuvu taking on Navua in Pool B and Drasa meeting Nasinu. At 9:15 AM, Ba will face Rewa in Pool C, while Varavu takes on Maro at the same time on a different ground. The morning session will wrap up with Maigania competing against Sabeto in Pool D at 10:30 AM.
Matches will pause during the Jumah Salaah break at noon, resuming at 1:30 PM when Suva faces Valelevu in Pool A, and Drasa meets Cuvu in Pool B. Following this, at 2:45 PM, Navua will battle Nasinu, and at 4 PM, Varavu will clash with Rewa. The evening matches will feature Nadi against Maigania in Pool D at 6:30 PM and Ba facing Maro in Pool C at 7:45 PM, with the day concluding with Lautoka going head-to-head against Valelevu at 9 PM.
On Easter Saturday, the action will kick off with an U17 schools competition at 8:15 AM, featuring Kamil Muslim College versus Nadi U17. Additional matches throughout the day will lead into the quarterfinal rounds starting at 3:30 PM and the evening’s finals expected to start at 2:30 PM on Sunday.
