The Fiji National University (FNU) has made significant strides in enhancing access to higher education by hosting its inaugural roadshow in Somosomo, Taveuni. This event reflects FNU’s dedication to delivering quality higher education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training to Fijians, especially in remote and rural areas.
The roadshow aims to make FNU’s services more accessible to communities across the nation, ensuring that individuals from every corner of Fiji have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals. Among the enthusiastic attendees was Maria Tonina Manabua, who made the early morning journey from Villamaria Settlement in Bouma. She expressed her excitement upon receiving her offer letter to study for a Bachelor of Education at FNU, sharing, “I waited for the FNU team from early morning because I did not want to miss this opportunity to study with the best.”
Another attendee, Soro Vakagone, echoed similar sentiments as she received her offer letter for the same program. Describing the moment as both rewarding and inspiring, she stated, “It was a really good feeling to receive my offer letter, and I will be studying for a Bachelor of Education this year.”
Feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the roadshow as a valuable platform for addressing questions and concerns regarding their educational journey at FNU. This initiative not only promotes higher education but also fosters a supportive community for learners eager to pursue their academic aspirations in Fiji.
