The Fiji National University’s College of Agriculture has set a new standard by becoming the first institution in the region to offer Plant Health Clinic Short Courses.
The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Kaliova Ravuiwasa, stated that the program equips graduates with essential skills to support farmers in addressing pest and disease issues and developing strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change on agriculture.
Dr. Ravuiwasa emphasized the significance of the Plant Health Clinic program.
Farmers can now benefit from expert advice and support through the course in managing crop health, ensuring sustainable and productive agricultural practices.
Dr. Ravuiwasa highlighted the broader implications of the program, noting that it aligns with global efforts to enhance food security and sustainability in agriculture.
Since its establishment, twenty students from across the region have graduated from the Plant Health Clinic course.
