FNU College of Agriculture Launches Innovative Plant Health Clinic Courses

The Fiji National University’s College of Agriculture has set a new standard by becoming the first institution in the region to offer Plant Health Clinic Short Courses.

Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Kaliova Ravuiwasa, explained that the program equips graduates with crucial skills to help farmers address pest and disease issues, as well as develop strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change on agriculture.

Dr. Ravuiwasa emphasized the significance of the Plant Health Clinic program, noting that it provides farmers with expert advice and support in managing crop health, ensuring sustainable and productive agricultural practices.

He further highlighted that the program aligns with global efforts to enhance food security and sustainability in agriculture.

Since its inception, twenty students from across the region have graduated from the Plant Health Clinic course.
