Fiji National University has partnered with Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for its 2024 Open Day, aiming to inspire Fijians with the theme “Dream It, Weave It, Achieve It.”
The Open Day, taking place at the Nasinu Campus, will allow participants to engage with Fijian Drua players such as Philip Baselala and Simione Kuruvoli, alongside the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s Player of the Year, Vani Arei. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear firsthand about the players’ journeys and experiences.
FNU Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba expressed that this event will enable attendees to connect with the Fijian Drua team members and see how dreams can become a reality. She noted, “The Drua players have demonstrated that with dedication, teamwork, and resilience, any challenge can be overcome. They serve as a source of inspiration for Fijians to chase their ambitions.”
Professor Nabobo-Baba also emphasized that just as the Drua integrates their skills on the rugby field, FNU combines knowledge, capabilities, and opportunities to empower students to reach their full potential.
Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans and noted Strength and Conditioning Coach Naca Cawanibuka will also speak at the event, sharing their insights into the team’s journey on Friday, October 4.
