Fiji National University (FNU) has partnered with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for its 2024 Open Day, with the theme “Dream It, Weave It, Achieve It.” The event will take place at the Nasinu Campus and offer attendees the chance to engage with Fijian Drua players, including Philip Baselala, Simione Kuruvoli, and Vani Arei, recognized as the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s Player of the Year.
Participants will learn about the athletes’ experiences and their pathways to success. FNU Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba highlighted the opportunity for attendees to engage with the Drua team, illustrating how dreams can be realized through commitment and resilience.
“The Drua players exemplify that with dedication, collaboration, and endurance, no challenge is insurmountable. They motivate Fijians to chase their aspirations and confront difficulties,” she stated. “Similar to how the Drua integrates their talents on the field, FNU combines knowledge, skills, and opportunities to empower our students to reach their full potential.”
Additionally, Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans and esteemed Strength and Conditioning Coach Naca Cawanibuka will serve as guest speakers, offering insights into the team’s journey on Friday, October 4.
