FMF Announces Three-Year Sponsorship for Fiji’s Hibiscus Festival

FMF, one of the country’s oldest locally-owned major businesses, has committed to sponsoring the Hibiscus Festival for the next three years.

At a signing ceremony held at its headquarters in Walu Bay, Suva, FMF Business Analyst Manager Claudia Dass Smith expressed the company’s enthusiasm to help shape the cultural rejuvenation and history of Fiji, which is the core essence of the festival.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that FMF Foods Limited will be the proud gold sponsor at the Fiji Hibiscus Festival for the next three years,” said Smith.

“The return of the Hibiscus Festival, the mother of all festivals, holds a special place in the hearts of all Fijians. This festival deeply resonates with our values at FMF Foods Limited, where we strive to support our communities.”

Smith highlighted that partnering with the Suva City Council (SCC) would further connect FMF with its consumers, who are central to the company’s success.

Opetaia Ravai, Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, stated, “Without sponsors like FMF, running a large festival like Hibiscus would be impossible. We would struggle with the organizational costs. Over the next few days, you will see what we can deliver.”

After a five-year hiatus, the festival will be revived and is scheduled to begin during the Term 2 school break, from August 31 to September, at Ratu Sukuna Park, Suva Foreshore, and the Civic Centre.

This year’s event slogan is “Where Beauty Blooms, Suva Shines.”
