FMF Announces 3-Year Sponsorship for Iconic Pacific Festival

FMF, one of the country’s oldest locally-owned major businesses, has committed to a three-year sponsorship of the Hibiscus Festival, known as the mother of all festivals in the Pacific. At a signing ceremony held at its headquarters in Walu Bay, Suva, FMF Business Analyst Manager Claudia Dass Smith expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Fiji’s cultural rejuvenation and history, which is the core of the festival.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that FMF Foods Limited will be the proud gold sponsor at the Fiji Hibiscus Festival for the next three years,” she said. “The return of the Hibiscus Festival holds a special place in the hearts of all Fijians. This festival resonates deeply with our values at FMF Foods Limited, where we strive to support the communities.”

Ms. Smith also noted that the partnership with the Suva City Council (SCC) will strengthen their connection with consumers, who are vital to their business success.

Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, Opetaia Ravai, highlighted the importance of sponsors like FMF. “Without sponsors like FMF, running a big festival like Hibiscus would be impossible; we would struggle to cover the costs,” he said. “In the next few days, you will see what we are able to deliver.”

The Hibiscus Festival, making a return after a five-year break, is set to begin during the Term 2 school break from August 31 to September at Ratu Sukuna Park, Suva Foreshore, and the Civic Centre. This year’s event slogan is “Where Beauty Blooms, Suva Shines.”
