Fiji’s 7s representative and Silver Medalist Ponipate Loganimasi has been included in the final 23-man Flying Fijians squad set to compete in the Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan.
The team will be captained by Tevita Ikanivere, who will play at hooker, with Eroni Mawi starting as loosehead prop and Samuela Tawake at tighthead. The lock positions will feature Isoa Nasilasila and Temo Mayanavanua, providing added strength to the pack. Flankers Ratu Meli Derenalagi and Kitione Salawa will contribute both speed and power to the team’s performance.
In the backline, Frank Lomani and Caleb Muntz will handle the halfback and flyhalf roles, respectively. The wings will be occupied by fast players Ilaisa Droasese and Vuate Karawalevu, while Inia Tabuavou and Iosefo Masi will form a strong center partnership. Elia Canakaivata is set to provide stability at number eight.
Isaiah Armstrong Ravula will take the position of fullback, with the responsibility of generating attacking plays.
Loganimasi will be supported on the bench by Mesulame Dolokoto, Hereti Hetet, Meli Tuni, Mesake Vocevoce, Albert Tuisue, Peni Matawalu, and Apisalome Vota.
