Flying Fijians Unveil Final Squad for Epic Clash with Japan

Fiji 7s representative and Silver Medalist Ponipate Loganimasi has been included in the final 23-member Flying Fijians squad for the Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan.

The team will be captained by Tevita Ikanivere, who plays at hooker, supported by Eroni Mawi at loosehead prop and Samuela Tawake at tighthead prop. The lock pairing of Isoa Nasilasila and Temo Mayanavanua will enhance the strength in the engine room, while flankers Ratu Meli Derenalagi and Kitione Salawa will contribute both speed and power to the squad.

In the backline, Frank Lomani and Caleb Muntz are set to control the game from halfback and flyhalf positions respectively. On the wings, the fast-paced Ilaisa Droasese and Vuate Karawalevu will feature, with Inia Tabuavou and Iosefo Masi forming a strong center combination. Elia Canakaivata will play at number eight, anchoring the forward pack, while Isaiah Armstrong Ravula will take on the role of fullback, focusing on creating attacking opportunities.

Loganimasi will be joined on the bench by Mesulame Dolokoto, Hereti Hetet, Meli Tuni, Mesake Vocevoce, Albert Tuisue, Peni Matawalu, and Apisalome Vota.
