Flying Fijians Unite with Community Ahead of Showdown

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians team has actively engaged with the local community, supported by their sponsors FIJI Water and Fiji Airways. Recently, they visited Sikituru village in Nadi, where they received a warm welcome and enjoyed a traditional Fijian lovo.

Head coach Mick Byrne expressed his delight about the visit, stating, “It was awesome to go to Sikituru village. The boys really enjoyed the Fijian food, and it was great to be back in the village. The looks on the kids’ faces were priceless; it made the visit very special for all of us.”

Team captain Tevita Ikanivere also voiced his appreciation for the chance to connect with the community. He thanked FIJI Water and Fiji Airways for providing this opportunity and acknowledged the wonderful hospitality from the villagers, who prepared a lovely lovo for the team. “It was great to see so many children during the school holidays and to experience the warmth of the villagers. We truly appreciate the warm welcome,” he said.

As the Flying Fijians prepare for their upcoming Pacific Nations Cup match against Tonga next week, they aim to secure a spot in the semi-finals. The match is scheduled for 3 PM next Friday, and Fiji is the defending champion of the tournament.
