The Flying Fijians and Fijiana XV presented their itatau to President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the State House as they gear up for the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup and other international fixtures.
President Katonivere warmly welcomed the teams and expressed gratitude for the pride they have instilled in the nation. He acknowledged their dedication and achievements, noting that they have become role models for young Fijians aspiring to excel in rugby.
“We would like to thank you for your unwavering commitment to enhancing the image of rugby both locally and internationally,” President Katonivere stated. “Your outstanding performances have made you role models for our younger generations, inspiring them to work hard and pursue careers in rugby.”
Furthermore, the President extended his thanks to the Fiji Rugby Union, coaches, and support staff for their efforts in developing the athletes and preparing them for the international arena.
The Fiji Water Flying Fijians are scheduled to face Samoa this Friday at 6 pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, while the Vodafone Fijiana XV continues preparations for a series of international matches, including the WXV 3 tournament in Dubai next month.
