Flying Fijians Set for Thrilling Semi-Final Clash Against USA!

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians are preparing for an exciting semi-final match against the USA in the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup this Saturday. The game will take place at 10:05 PM Fiji time at the Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.

As the leaders of Pool A, the Flying Fijians will take on the USA, who finished as the runners-up in Pool B. Japan, which topped Pool B, will face Samoa in the second semi-final the following day, September 15, at 6:05 PM, also at the same venue.

The Flying Fijians returned to Nadi over the weekend after their impressive victory against Tonga. Although there have been no reports of significant injuries within the squad, they will be without centre Adrea Cocagi, who is suspended for the next four games due to a red card received during the match against Tonga.

Coach Mick Byrne expressed confidence in the team’s capabilities, stating after their match in Nuku’alofa, “I don’t know whether there’s a ceiling (referring to growth) in this squad as they’re a very talented team.”

Additionally, Tonga and Canada will compete for fifth place on September 14 at 7 PM at the same venue.
