Flying Fijians Revamp Roster Ahead of Key Clash with Tonga

Fiji Water Flying Fijians’ head coach Mick Byrne has revealed seven changes to the team for their upcoming match against Tonga in the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup this Friday.

Key players Adrea Cocagi and Mesake Vocevoce have been named to start, having demonstrated their value in securing their positions for this important fixture. Following a strong 42-16 win over Samoa two weeks ago in Suva, the Flying Fijians aim to keep their winning streak alive.

Newly signed Fijian Drua player Vuate Karawalevu and Epeli Momo will bring fresh energy to the wings, while Isaiah Ravula is set to take on the fullback role. In the front row, Eroni Mawi, Tevita Ikanivere, and Samuela Tawake will anchor the scrum. The second row will be reinforced by the pairing of Mesake Vocevoce and Temo Mayanavanua.

The back row will include Meli Derenalagi, Elia Canakaivata, and Albert Tuisue, providing a dynamic presence. Frank Lomani will take charge as the scrum-half, teaming up with fly-half Caleb Muntz. Iosefo Masi will maintain his position at outside centre, contributing experience to the midfield.
