Flying Fijians Ready to Take on Samoa: Can They Rise to the Challenge?

The Flying Fijians are focusing on defence and discipline ahead of their opening match in the Pacific Nations Cup against Samoa today at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Captain Tevita Ikanivere emphasized the importance of staying alert throughout the game.

“There is a saying that goes, we are only good enough if we do the work,” Ikanivere remarked. He urged rugby fans to come out and support the newly revamped Flying Fijians team.

“I’m ready for the challenge and I thank God for choosing me as captain to fulfill this role,” he expressed. Ikanivere anticipates a tough match against the Samoans.

“We are a young team, but we have many leaders within the squad, which makes my job easier both on and off the field since everyone takes responsibility for themselves,” he added.

Following two rigorous training sessions, Ikanivere stated they are aiming for victory in their first PNC match. The match is set to start at 6pm.
