The FIJI Water Flying Fijians are preparing for a thrilling semi-final match against the USA in the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup this Saturday.

The game is set to kick off at 10:05 PM Fiji time at the Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo, Japan.

The Flying Fijians, who topped Pool A, will take on the USA, the runners-up from Pool B. Japan, having finished first in Pool B, will face Samoa in the second semi-final the next day, September 15th, at 6:05 PM Fiji time, also at the same venue.

After their remarkable win against Tonga, the Flying Fijians returned to Nadi over the weekend and resumed training today.

While there have been no major injury concerns within the squad, centre Adrea Cocagi will miss the next four games due to a red card received in the match against Tonga.

Coach Mick Byrne shared his optimism regarding the team’s capabilities, stating after the Nuku’alofa match, “I don’t know whether there’s a ceiling in this squad as they’re a very talented team.”

Additionally, Tonga and Canada will compete for fifth place on September 14th at 7:00 PM Fiji time, also at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium.
