The FIJI Water Flying Fijians are intensifying their preparations for the semi-final matchup against the USA in the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup. Having finished first in Pool A, the Flying Fijians are set to face the USA, who secured the runner-up position in Pool B.
The team has regrouped in Nadi after a significant victory over Tonga, resuming training as they focus on the imminent challenge. While there are no major injuries reported within the squad, they will be without centre Adrea Cocagi, who is facing a four-game suspension due to a red card received during the match against Tonga.
Coach Mick Byrne expressed confidence in his team’s potential. “I don’t know whether there’s a ceiling in this squad as they’re a very talented team,” Byrne stated.
The match is scheduled for 10:05 PM Fiji time this Saturday at Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. In the other semi-final, Japan, the leaders of Pool B, will take on Samoa on Sunday, September 15th, at 6:05 PM Fiji Time, also at the same location.
