Flying Fijians Face USA in Thrilling Semi-Final Showdown!

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians are preparing for an exciting semi-final match against the USA in the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup this Saturday.

The game is set to kick off at 10:05 PM Fiji time at Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. The Flying Fijians, who topped Pool A, will take on the USA, the runners-up of Pool B. Japan, which led Pool B, will play against Samoa in the other semi-final the following day, September 15, at 6:05 PM Fiji time, also at the same venue.

The Flying Fijians returned to Nadi last weekend after their impressive win over Tonga and resumed training today.

While there are no significant injury concerns within the squad, centre Adrea Cocagi will miss the next four games due to a red card received during the Tonga match.

Coach Mick Byrne conveyed his confidence in the team’s capabilities, stating after the match in Nuku’alofa, “I don’t know whether there’s a ceiling in this squad as they’re a very talented team.”

In addition, Tonga and Canada will compete for fifth place on September 14 at 7:00 PM Fiji time, also at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium.
