Flying Fijians Eye Clean Sweep in Autumn Nations Series

Fiji Water Flying Fijians head coach Mick Byrne is set on securing victories in all three of their Autumn Nations Series matches this month against England, France, and Spain. As they prepare to kick off the series, Byrne is confident about the team’s performance, starting with their match against England this Sunday at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham.

“Our aim is clear—we want to perform well, and winning all three Test matches is the goal,” Byrne stated emphatically, signaling his determination to capture this opportunity.

The upcoming series not only holds importance for the established players but also offers younger talents a chance to shine. Players like Joji Nasova and Kitione Salawa are expected to make notable contributions, as Byrne highlighted their potential growth. “Joji showcased promise during the Pacific Nations Cup, and Kiti has shown significant development, indicative of the growth we see in him,” he noted.

The series against formidable opponents presents a unique opportunity for the Flying Fijians to demonstrate their progress and depth on the international stage. Previously, in 2023, Fiji managed an impressive victory against England, which adds a layer of excitement as they again face the team on their home turf.

Reflecting on the significance of these matches, Byrne emphasized that playing against top-tier teams abroad will challenge the Flying Fijians to elevate their game and continue building a stronger foundation for Fijian rugby. This momentum is particularly important as it aligns with the team’s long-term aspirations as they prepare for upcoming competitions, including the Rugby World Cup.

With optimism and a focus on growth, the Flying Fijians aim to not only engage with fans but also inspire the next generation of rugby players in Fiji. As the excitement builds around the series, players and supporters alike are hopeful that these matches will be a display of skill, unity, and resilience, marking another significant chapter for Fijian rugby on the international landscape.
