Flying Fijians Embrace Community Spirit Ahead of Showdown!

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians team recently took time away from the field to engage with the local community, thanks to the support from sponsors FIJI Water and Fiji Airways. On Tuesday, the team made a visit to Sikituru village in Nadi, where they received a warm welcome with a traditional Fijian lovo feast.

Head coach Mick Byrne expressed his excitement about the visit, stating, “It was awesome to go to Sikituru village. The boys really enjoyed the Fijian food, and it was great to be back in the village. The looks on the kids’ faces were priceless; it made the visit very special for all of us.”

Captain Tevita Ikanivere also expressed his appreciation for the chance to connect with the community. He thanked FIJI Water and Fiji Airways for the opportunity, emphasizing, “It was great to see so many children during the school holidays and to experience the hospitality of the villagers who prepared a wonderful lovo for us. We truly appreciate the warm welcome.”

The Flying Fijians are currently preparing for their upcoming match against Tonga in the Pacific Nations Cup, scheduled for 3 PM next Friday, as they aim for a spot in the semi-finals. Fiji enters the tournament as the defending champion.
