Flying Fijians Coach Impressed by Team’s Victory – Read More About Their Performance

FIJI Water Flying Fijians Coach Mick Byrne praised his team’s performance after their 21-12 victory over Georgia at the Adjarabet Arena yesterday.

Byrne expressed satisfaction with the squad’s defense, which withstood numerous attacks from a robust Georgian team playing in front of their enthusiastic home supporters. “I think our defence tonight showed that we’ve been working hard. We missed a few attacking opportunities, but I’m extremely impressed with how our team played,” Byrne stated.

He noted that the Fijians were prepared for the physical challenge from the hosts, particularly in the breakdown area, and were ready for the intensity of the Georgian side.

The match also saw the debut of five players in test rugby: Isaiah-Washington Ravula, Elia Canakaivata, Inia Tabuavou, Kitione Salawa, and Peniasi Dakuwaqa. Dakuwaqa made an immediate impact, scoring two tries and showcasing his pace on the wing.

The Flying Fijians are now focusing on their upcoming test match against the All Blacks on July 20th in San Diego, USA. This highly anticipated match will be a significant test for the team as they continue to build momentum and refine their performance.
