Tevita Ikanivere, the captain of the Flying Fijians and a former star of Queen Victoria School (QVS) U18 team, is confident that his alma mater will triumph in the 2024 Vodafone Super Deans competition. Ikanivere is set to lead the Flying Fijians as they prepare for their Pacific Nations Cup campaign, beginning on August 23 against Manu Samoa at HFC Stadium.
“I know QVS will win the Deans,” Ikanivere stated with enthusiasm. As the co-captain of the Fijian Drua, he not only expressed his faith in QVS but also encouraged all participating teams to adequately prepare and put forth their best efforts on the field.
“For the rest of the teams, I hope you prepare well and come and perform well on the field. To all the fans, come out in numbers and support our secondary school boys and girls,” he added.
With a smile, Ikanivere reinforced his prediction, saying, “QVS will win.” The school currently holds the title of defending champion of the Deans Trophy. QVS is scheduled to compete against Ratu Navula College in the eagerly awaited second semi-final tomorrow at 5 p.m.
