The coach of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians, Mick Byrne, is concentrating on developing a strong and united team in anticipation of the 2024 Pacific Nations Cup. With new players joining the squad, Byrne recognizes the challenge of integrating fresh talent alongside experienced athletes.
“It’s not like we have the same players every week or year; this team is evolving with newcomers and veteran players. Each new team requires us to follow a specific set of instructions,” he explained.
Byrne expressed his enthusiasm for the younger players taking on more responsibility while valuing the consistency the senior athletes provide. He also thanked the Fijian fans for their continued support and understanding as the team evolves.
The Flying Fijians are set to compete against Manu Samoa this Friday at 6pm.
