Flu Season Alert: Clean Hands, Healthy Kids!

A prominent retail products manufacturer is emphasizing the importance of maintaining personal and general hygiene across the nation as flu season approaches. The Punjas Group has donated hundreds of soap bars to students to promote handwashing as a crucial aspect of cleanliness and health care.

Priya Kumar, the quality control manager of Ocean Soaps Limited, highlighted that the company has been producing a range of soaps for several years and has established a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing facility in Navutu, Lautoka, which meets stringent Australian certification standards.

During her talk with students, Kumar explained that the ingredients in their Bodyguard soap brand are particularly effective in enhancing personal hygiene and preventing the spread of germs through proper handwashing.

She noted, “Handwashing with soap is expected to significantly contribute to the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goal of reducing childhood mortality rates by two-thirds among children under five by 2015. As good habits start in childhood, children can lead the way in encouraging their communities to adopt practices like using soap when washing hands.”
