Severe flooding has impacted multiple areas across the country as heavy rain fell overnight in the Eastern Division. Many homes in Wailoku remain inundated, while residents begin the challenging task of clearing away debris.

The Fiji Meteorological Services report that the Eastern Division continues to face heavy rainfall, leading to flash flooding in several low-lying regions. The Nadi Weather Office attributes the ongoing weather conditions to a trough of low pressure situated over Fiji, which is gradually shifting eastward.

Showers linked to this system are expected to continue in the affected regions throughout the day. In contrast, other divisions may see partly cloudy weather with occasional rain showers.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
