In response to severe weather conditions, 160 police officers have been placed on standby in the Western Division. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, has issued a warning to the public to brace for potentially dangerous flooding, as reports indicate rising water levels.

Traffic has been halted in Ba and Rakiraki Towns, with police strictly regulating all movement in and out of these areas. ACP Driu strongly advises motorists to refrain from entering these towns due to hazardous flooding conditions.

Authorities, including police and government officials, are actively monitoring the evolving situation and will continue to provide updates to ensure public safety.

This situation highlights the importance of community vigilance and preparedness during adverse weather events. It serves as a reminder for residents to stay informed and heed the advice of local authorities for their safety.

As we face these challenges, there is hope that conditions will improve, and residents can return safely to their daily lives as soon as the weather stabilizes.
