In response to severe flooding in the Western Division, 160 police officers are prepared to assist as conditions worsen. Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu is advising residents to brace for potentially difficult circumstances as reports of flooding continue to emerge.
Access to both Ba and Rakiraki Towns has been restricted, with police actively controlling the movement of vehicles in and out of these areas. ACP Driu has strongly recommended that motorists avoid entering these towns due to high flood risks.
Authorities are maintaining vigilant oversight of the situation and will share updates as they become available.
This proactive approach from law enforcement and government agencies underscores a commitment to ensure public safety during challenging weather conditions. Residents are encouraged to heed warnings and remain alert as the situation develops.
