Severe flooding has caused multiple rural roads to close in the Central and Northern Divisions of Fiji, prompting authorities to advise travelers to be extremely cautious and follow all road closure advisories.

In the Central Division, Savu Road in Naitasiri is particularly affected by flooding, while roads in Viria Village, Vatulili, and Navulokani are experiencing significant flooded crossings. Moreover, Nabukaluka Delailasakau Road faces substantial challenges, including landslides and washout crossings.

The Northern Division has not been spared either, with Coqeloa Road affected by a flooded crossing at Qelemumu and Vunivutu Road suffering from rising water levels. Additional roads that are experiencing difficulties include Boubale Road at Qawa Crossing, Sevaci Korotasere Road at Nayagalevu Crossing, Dreketilailai Road at Konasami Crossing, and Vuniyalayala Road at Vuniyalayala Crossing.

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is actively monitoring the situation and assures that updates will be provided as necessary. Their ongoing efforts highlight a strong commitment to roadway safety and community well-being during adverse weather conditions.

These challenging conditions emphasize the importance of safety and preparedness in the face of natural events. Community members are encouraged to stay informed and heed warnings, and the FRA’s proactive approach serves as reassurance of the authorities’ dedication to ensuring safe travel and access. As the situation develops, there is hope for improvements that will restore connectivity and ease travel in the affected regions.
