A flash flood warning is currently in effect across all low-lying, flood-prone areas and small streams in the Western and Northern divisions of Fiji. Additionally, a flash flood alert has been issued for similar regions in the Central Eastern division.

According to the Nadi weather office, an active trough of low pressure, accompanied by clouds and precipitation, continues to slowly move over the northeastern parts of Fiji. This weather pattern is expected to affect the region until Monday. Furthermore, another trough of low pressure is anticipated to approach and influence the area starting tomorrow, as indicated by Fiji Meteorological Services.

The Fiji Met office warns that flooding may occur in drainage systems, small streams, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Notably, many low-lying regions, including Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, and Rakiraki, remain submerged under water.

As the situation develops, it is crucial for residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this challenging weather event. Community preparedness and resilience will play a vital role in mitigating the impacts of such natural occurrences.
