Opposition MP Sanjay Kirpal has urged the Government to take swift action in providing food rations to those affected by recent floods. Representing the Nadi area, Kirpal highlighted the dire situation in communities such as Korovuto, Nawaka, and Vuniyasi, where residents are struggling due to heavy rainfall.
In an effort to assist, Kirpal has organized a team of volunteers to deliver grocery packages to the impacted individuals and families. He emphasized the need for immediate relief, particularly for those taking shelter in evacuation centers, many of whom include young children.
While Kirpal acknowledged that distributing immediate relief supplies poses challenges for authorities, he emphasized the importance of a prompt governmental response to support citizens nationwide who are suffering from the aftermath of the floods that occurred on Christmas Day.
This appeal for action underscores the critical need for governmental support in times of crisis. The community’s spirit, as shown by Kirpal’s mobilization of volunteers, reflects a willingness to come together during difficult times. It highlights the importance of solidarity and proactive measures in ensuring that no one is left behind during natural disasters.
