Mosese Bulitavu, the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, personally delivered relief supplies to those sheltering at four locations in Ba and Lautoka.
During his visit, Minister Bulitavu, accompanied by emergency response teams, distributed essential Non-Food Items (NFIs) aimed at supporting families as they begin their recovery and prepare to return to their homes. The areas visited included Nasolo Village Hall and Nailaga Village Hall in Ba, as well as Lovu Sangam Primary School and Sun Black Apartment in Lautoka, where many have sought refuge since the floods.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the families for their cooperation in following official advisories to evacuate for their safety. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the supplies provided to aid in the rebuilding of their homes and livelihoods.
The Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management also noted the support from the Governments of Australia and New Zealand, which played a significant role in providing NFIs to aid the recovery efforts for these flood-impacted families.
