Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Mosese Bulitavu, visited the Naqiliso Settlement in Davuilevu today to provide much-needed assistance to eight families impacted by recent flooding. This outreach is part of the government’s continuous disaster response efforts aimed at supporting communities affected by severe weather events.
During the visit, the affected households received essential non-food items, which included shelter kits, tarpaulins, kitchen sets, wash and hygiene kits, 20-litre water containers, sleeping mats, blankets, mosquito nets, and solar lanterns. Mr. Bulitavu took the opportunity to meet directly with the families, assessing their immediate needs and assuring them of ongoing government support throughout the recovery phase.
The government has acknowledged the significant disruption caused by the flooding and reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely and coordinated assistance to those in need. As communities continue to grapple with the aftermath of severe weather, the focus remains on delivering resources and support to help them rebuild and recover.
