In the Western Division, 160 police officers are currently on standby as heavy rains have led to significant flooding. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, is cautioning residents to brace for potentially worsening conditions.

Ba and Rakiraki Towns have been completely closed to traffic due to rising water levels, with police closely supervising any movement in and out of these areas. ACP Driu stresses the importance of not entering these towns during this time, prioritizing safety above all.
