NAIDU’S Phone Repair, a new establishment in Ba Town, has incurred approximately $1,000 in damages following recent flooding that impacted both their furniture and essential repair tools. Owners Romal Preety and Niteshwar Naidu, who opened the shop just last month, reported significant losses, including vital equipment such as a phone drill and heater, which are crucial for their repair operations.

“We started moving items to higher ground on Tuesday as the rain intensified,” stated Ms. Preety. She recounted how, by Thursday night, they had to return to the shop at midnight to relocate more belongings. “We did everything we could to salvage our tools, but some loss was inevitable.”

Over the weekend, the couple joined forces with other affected business owners in Ba Town to clean up the aftermath of the flood. Many streets and shops in the area were left coated in mud, prompting a collective effort to restore the community.

Reflecting on their experience, Ms. Preety noted that this was their first encounter with flooding since beginning their journey in business, calling it a daunting initiation. However, despite the challenges they’ve faced, the couple remains hopeful about the future, expressing their determination to rebuild and continue providing their services.

This story serves as a reminder of the resilience of small business owners who often band together in times of crisis. Their positive outlook demonstrates the strength of community ties and the undeterred spirit of entrepreneurship, even in the face of adversity.
