Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a flood warning for areas adjacent to and downstream of the Ba FSC River. Meanwhile, warnings previously in place for the Nasivi River in Tavua and the Nakauvadra River in Rakiraki have been downgraded to flood alerts. A flash flood alert that applied to low-lying, flash flood-prone regions and small streams across the rest of Fiji has been lifted.

In the past 24 hours, rainfall in the Western Division has varied, measuring between 30mm and 154mm, from 8 am on Sunday to 8 am on Monday. As of 5:30 am, the water level at the Ba FSC River was reported at 3.75 meters, which surpasses the warning threshold but is on the decline. Similarly, the Nakauvadra River had a water level of 1.97 meters above the alert mark as of 8:00 am, also showing a decreasing trend.

This situation highlights the importance of remaining vigilant in flood-prone areas, even as some warnings are being lifted. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates and prepared for possible changes, as conditions can fluctuate rapidly.

In summary, while most flooding alerts have been downgraded or canceled, the Ba FSC River continues to require attention, reminding us of the power of nature and the need for preparedness in adverse weather scenarios.
