A fire engulfed a two-bedroom house in Nasole, Nasinu, resulting in complete destruction just after midday today. Fortunately, there were no occupants inside at the time of the incident, and the family managed to save a nearby parked vehicle.

The National Fire Authority responded promptly to the scene, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire. This incident follows a series of recent fires in the Nasinu area, including a devastating blaze on Sele Road that left 22 individuals homeless after two wooden houses were destroyed. The rapid response from multiple fire stations, including Valelevu, Suva, and Nakasi, has been crucial in controlling these fires and preventing further loss.

Previous statements from Puamau Sowane, CEO of the National Fire Authority, have underscored the growing concerns surrounding fire safety. He has urged homeowners to utilize suitable building materials and engage licensed electricians to mitigate the common risk factors leading to house fires.

As the local community faces these unfortunate events, it highlights the critical need for heightened fire safety awareness and measures. The resilience of families affected and the collective support from the community remain hopeful aspects during this challenging time.
