Suva Methodist Primary School proudly hosted its inaugural Athletics Festival at the HFC Bank Stadium, marking a significant milestone for the institution. The stands were filled with enthusiastic parents, former students, and supporters, all gathered to witness and partake in this landmark event.
The one-day festival saw the participation of hundreds of students who engaged in various athletic activities. Varanisese Korovakaturaga, the event coordinator, emphasized that the festival was intended as a fun-filled day rather than a fierce competition. This Athletics Festival not only provided entertainment but also served a purpose for the school’s athletics program. Coaches used the event to scout for potential talents who could represent SMPS in future competitions, particularly the upcoming Suva Zone One meet scheduled to be held at the same venue next month.
