A fire broke out at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa on Saturday, specifically in the storeroom located behind the main facilities. The National Fire Authority is currently investigating the incident. Carey Osborne, the general manager of the resort, stated that the fire was contained and extinguished promptly, with no injuries reported.
Osborne emphasized that no guest rooms were impacted and that, as a precautionary measure, a small number of guests were safely evacuated from nearby rooms. She reaffirmed the resort’s commitment to adhering to rigorous safety and security standards to ensure the well-being of both guests and staff.
Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for the West, also reported that there were no casualties and stated that they are awaiting the results of the investigation.
