Fire at Fiji’s Rarawai Sugar Mill Spurs Focus on Industry Resilience

A fire broke out today at the Rarawai Sugar Mill in Ba, as confirmed by the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry. The blaze began around 11:30 a.m., reportedly starting from the power house within the facility. Teams from the National Fire Authority are currently on site working to contain the blaze.

The Ministry released a statement emphasizing the joint efforts of the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) and the National Fire Authority (NFA) to prevent the fire from spreading, with the safety of the workers and the surrounding community deemed a top priority.
