Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad announced that his legal team has responded to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), disputing its allegations. In an interview, Prof Prasad stated that his lawyers are managing the situation and are in communication with FICAC. He chose not to provide further comments on the matter. This statement comes in light of FICAC’s indication that they plan to file charges against him on Thursday. Additionally, FICAC has informed key government officials, including President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, of their intention to proceed with the charges against Prof Prasad.
