With just one month remaining in the regular season, every Super Netball club still has a chance to qualify for the finals, despite challenging starts for some teams. The urgency was palpable in round 10 as the bottom four teams fought to sustain their seasons. Unfortunately, either the Queensland Firebirds or Melbourne Mavericks will see their hopes dashed in round 11 during their matchup in Brisbane.

This past weekend, both teams put in remarkable efforts but were unable to secure victories; the Mavericks fell to the West Coast Fever with a score of 69-63, while the Firebirds lost to the Adelaide Thunderbirds, 65-58.

In a standout performance, Grace Nweke of the NSW Swifts became the first shooter to reach 500 goals this season, though she recorded her lowest individual score of 40 goals this weekend, stepping back as Sophie Fawns returned to the lineup. The Swifts experienced a surprising downturn after starting the season undefeated for eight rounds, suffering back-to-back losses to the Fever and the Melbourne Vixens, with a close score of 70-68.

Meanwhile, the Giants pulled off an impressive achievement, securing consecutive wins for the first time in two years by defeating the Sunshine Coast Lightning 78-68, elevating them out of the wooden spoon position.

As the competition progresses, fans and teams alike can look forward to the remaining matches and the tightening race for the finals, with all teams showcasing grit and determination. This competitive spirit is a promising sign for the future of the league, as every team continues to strive for success despite the challenges encountered throughout the season.
