No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev from Russia has advanced to the final of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, set to face No. 8 seed Jack Draper of Great Britain after both players triumphed in their respective semifinal matches in Doha. Rublev’s match against Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime was a close contest that lasted two hours and 46 minutes, ending with a score of 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (5). Auger-Aliassime, despite the loss, showcased an impressive performance by hitting 21 aces and saving seven out of eight break points, including three match points.

On the other side of the draw, Draper also fought hard to secure his place in the final, overcoming Czech Republic’s Jiri Lehecka with a score of 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-3. Draper was particularly effective on his serve, winning 45 of 51 first-serve points for an impressive success rate of 88.2 percent.

In addition to the Qatar Open results, Francisco Comesana from Argentina has made headlines by reaching the semifinals of the Rio Open after defeating the top seed, Alexander Zverev, in a surprising upset, winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. This will be Comesana’s first semifinal appearance on the ATP Tour. He will face French player Alexandre Muller, who outplayed Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina in his match.

Moreover, in another parallel semifinal, Camilo Ugo Carabelli, also from Argentina, continues to shine alongside his compatriot Sebastian Baez, who also secured a win in the quarterfinals.
