Round one of the Extra Premier League is set to conclude this weekend, bringing thrilling matchups for football fans. Rewa and Nadi will each play two matches to wrap up the round’s fixtures, starting with a match on Friday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori at 3 PM.

On Saturday, Labasa’s Babasiga Lions will take on Nasinu at 1:30 PM in Labasa, setting the stage for an action-packed Sunday. Four matches are scheduled across various locations that day, all commencing at 3 PM. Rewa will face Tavua at Ratu Cakobau Park, Navua will clash with Suva at the Uprising Sports Centre, and Nadi will compete against Ba at Prince Charles Park. Additionally, Lautoka will play Nadroga at Churchill Park, starting earlier at 2 PM.

These matches are crucial as they lead into a break for the teams to prepare for the upcoming BiC Fiji FACT tournament. The tournament’s pool draws will take place this Saturday at the Fiji Football Association headquarters in Vatuwaqa.

In the current standings of the Extra Premier League, Labasa leads the table with 20 points from eight matches, while Rewa follows closely in second place with 16 points after seven games. Nadroga and Navua are in third and fourth places with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Ba and Nadi are fifth and sixth, with 11 and 10 points, while Suva and Lautoka round out the top eight, both having garnered nine points. Notably, Nasinu sits in ninth place with eight points, and Tavua is at the bottom of the table with just two points, meaning they will miss out on the Fiji FACT tournament.

As the final matches of the round approach, teams will be eager to secure points and potentially reshuffle the standings.
