The Fiji Muslim League (FML) has announced that the late boxer Ubayd Haider will receive his final rites tomorrow evening. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Raralevu cemetery at 8:30 PM.

FML stated, “Janaza of Br Ubayd Haider will be held on Tue 12th Nov at 8.30pm @ Raralevu Muslim cemetery, Nausori.”

Haider, who previously fought under the name Nathan Singh, suffered a defeat by technical knockout from Australia-based Runqi Zhou during their IBO Asia Pacific Super Featherweight title fight on October 26. He collapsed post-fight and was rushed to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where he remained until his passing yesterday at the age of 25.

This tragic event highlights the risks athletes face in combat sports and serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures in boxing. The community is coming together to honor Ubayd Haider’s memory as they pay their respects during the final rites.

In summary, Haider’s untimely death has touched many, and his memorial services will provide an opportunity for friends, family, and fans to celebrate his life and contributions to the sport.
