South Sea Towage Limited has welcomed three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as intern employees. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna are the first participants in a promising initiative established by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.
Aporosa Silatolu, the Director for CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of the event in fostering meaningful employment opportunities not only for the trio but for youth across Fiji. “The center aims to create a platform for substantial employment for many young people in Fiji, and we are thrilled to have signed three of our interns today. They are just the beginning,” he stated.
Twenty-one-year-old Saimoni Raikuna, who graduated from the Nadave Technical School last year, expressed his appreciation for the chance to work with South Sea Towage Limited. “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this ever happening. This is only the start of my career,” he said.
Raikuna urged other youths in Fiji to leverage their skills and talents for their own benefit. “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t see your educational background as a barrier in achieving your dreams,” he advised.
The Nadave Technical School is part of a broader effort by the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs to create job opportunities for youth in Fiji and address the rising unemployment rates.
