South Sea Towage Limited has officially onboarded three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as interns. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna represent the inaugural group of participants in a significant initiative led by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.

Aporosa Silatolu, the director of CATD Nadave, emphasized the event’s significance in fostering meaningful employment for these young men and the youth of Fiji as a whole. “The center aims to provide a platform for meaningful employment for many youths in Fiji, and we are thrilled to have signed three of our interns today. They are the first of many,” he stated.

Saimoni Raikuna, a 21-year-old who graduated from Nadave Technical School a year ago, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity with South Seas Towage Limited. “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this ever happening. This is only the start of my career,” he shared.

Raikuna encouraged his peers to leverage their skills and abilities to create their own opportunities. “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t see your educational background as a barrier in achieving your dreams,” he advised.

The Nadave Technical School is part of efforts by the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs to provide employment opportunities for youth in Fiji and address the rising unemployment rates.
