South Sea Towage Limited has officially onboarded three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as intern employees. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna represent the initial success of an initiative led by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD), which operates under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.

Aporosa Silatolu, the Director for CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of this event and the center’s role in creating meaningful employment opportunities for the youth in Fiji. “The center aims to provide a platform of meaningful employment for many youths in Fiji, and we are very happy to have signed three of our interns today. They are the first of many,” he stated.

Twenty-one-year-old Saimoni Raikuna, one of the new interns who graduated from Nadave Technical School last year, expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by both the school and South Sea Towage Limited. “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this ever happening. This is only the start of my career,” he remarked.

Raikuna encouraged other youths in Fiji to leverage their skills and talents to support themselves. “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t see your educational background as a barrier to achieving your dreams,” he urged.

The Nadave Technical School aims to be part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs to provide job opportunities for the youth in Fiji and address the rising unemployment rates.
