South Sea Towage Limited has officially welcomed three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as ‘intern employees’. The new interns, Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna, represent the positive outcomes of a program initiated by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development, which operates under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.

Aporosa Silatolu, the Director for CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of this initiative for fostering meaningful employment opportunities not only for the three graduates but for the youth of Fiji as a whole. He expressed his satisfaction with the center’s efforts: “The center aims to provide a platform of meaningful employment for many youths in Fiji and we are very happy to have been able to sign three of our interns today. They are the first of many.”

Saimoni Raikuna, one of the new interns and a 21-year-old graduate from Nadave Technical School, expressed his gratitude for this opportunity. “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this ever happening. This is only the start of my career,” he said.

Raikuna also encouraged other young individuals in Fiji to utilize their skills and talents to pave their paths. He urged, “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t see your educational background as a barrier in achieving your dreams.”

The Nadave Technical School aims to be part of the broader efforts by the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs to create job opportunities for youth in Fiji and address the rising unemployment rates.
