As the issues affecting youth continue to escalate across the nation, young individuals are being urged to venture beyond their comfort zones by actively participating in awareness and outreach programs that promote positive development. This message was underscored by Lusiani Ledua Baleiwai, a participant at the Methodist Youth Fellowship Camp, during the annual youth camp held at the Davuilevu Theological College.
Baleiwai emphasized that greater involvement in awareness activities is crucial for keeping young people engaged and steering them away from potential trouble. She pointed out that many youths face difficulties when they lack proper guidance or structured activities, noting that camps like the Methodist gathering offer a safe space for learning and personal growth.
“Because they can learn a lot, and it can open their mind, especially spiritually,” Baleiwai remarked, highlighting the camp’s focus. Throughout the event, participants have engaged in sessions designed to bolster their spiritual and mental well-being, fostering a deeper understanding of their responsibilities within their families and communities.
The youth camp has provided an invaluable forum for young people to express the challenges they encounter, while also equipping them with practical strategies to build resilience, discipline, and a sense of purpose.
This annual event remains a vital platform for leadership development, faith-based learning, and community involvement, empowering young individuals from across Fiji to strengthen their values and make meaningful contributions to society. Such programs not only nurture personal growth but also foster a sense of community and responsibility among the youth, showcasing a promising path toward a brighter future.
